My Sonerai has been flying well for the 1.5 hours it's been back in business. If the weather cooperates and I can finish flight testing, I will race it this weekend. Either way, I should be able to fly it to Oshkosh for EAA ; )

Need help burning through that test phase???
😃

Hmm...When should we start believing the weather forecast?

Ref. Picnic.

The picnic is no doubt a lot of work for a few people that set it up and take it down, usually OSH locals...

Might I suggest an alternative. Everybody is busy during OSH trying to squeeze as much in during the days they are on the grounds. How bout doing a lunch get together at one of the food venues on the field one late morning. I am not sure what and where they are. But someone knowledgeable could pick one, we could get there early like maybe 1100 hrs, beat the lunch rush, socialize, tell lies, and eat the vendors food and drink.

No set up or clean up, no shopping, food/drink of your choice. Nobody gets stuck doing all the work.

I agree. With all of the flight testing and hanger clean up I am dealing with, I don't have time to work on a picnic.

Off to get flight test 5 out of the way!

OSH 2015

Okay, I will take the lead on this. No guarantees but we can hook up and put faces to names and have lunch too.

I am thinking about gathering mid week, Wednesday at 11:00. This date should accommodate most folks schedule. Looking at the EAA grounds map from last year there is supposedly a shaded food service area immediately south of the "Homebuilders Hangar" (not the homebuilders pavilion). Let's plan on doing lunch there.

I will get some name tags and sharpies.

I will be on the field on Monday. I will go scope out this area and check it's suitability. Then on Monday evening I will put a post here and confirm the meeting location. Reason is that venues change a bit from year to year, especially the food locations.

Suggestions?

How 'bout this: The Sonerai Builder's Forum is at 2:30 PM on Monday in Forum Pavillion #3. Everybody stop by and participate in the forum, and we can set the time and place for the Wednesday lunch.

Life, packing and weather has delayed my departure, I probably won't be there by Monday but should be there by Wednesday!

I'm here. I'm out in the Auto Powered Home Built line in front of Home Builder's HQ.

WEDNESDAY LUNCH

Lunch hook up will be Wednesday, July 22nd at 11a.m., at the Aces Bistro directly on the south side of the Homebuilders Hangar, NOT the Homebuilders pavilion and registration. Just a few hundred feet west of Fred Keip's Sonerai.

The place is a large white tent with food, lots of tables, chairs and shade.

I will get over there about 10:30 and try and stake out some tables before the lunch rush, please join me if ya wish.

Informal, no speaking parts, come as you are and let's put faces to names, I'll have some name tags.
