My wife won't let me buy a Sonerai until I finish and sell my Varieze. I think she's being unreasonable. It's going to take at least another three weeks to get it done but I'm looking at a 2ll now! I need tangible arguments to sway her-all input will be appreciated. I've tried what I know, the usual, begging/pleading, yard work, actually working on my Varieze and, pretending I still like her (despite her lack enthusiasm for flying). Oh great! Now she's whinning that I spend too much on my planes because she saw a receipt from Aircraft Spruce for a $130 and a work order for a mag for $325. I think these are reasonable expedetures-and of course much needed purchases. HELP!!!!!!!!!

Let her buy that Painting/GeeGaw she really wants and help her hang it. Then get the Sonerai. She'll never notice.

I just told her I'd let her ride my bicycle to work to save gas money to help pay for it. She called me several indecent expletives and left the room. Now she's just being difficult.

I remember the time I took my out wife to a romantic candle light dinner and told her I was adding a third motorcycle to my stable. It wasn't pretty.

Just tell her how much you love watching "Orange County Housewives" with her. Trust me, she'll let you have anything you want!

Reminds me of this ad:

For ME, this worked....I have a T-shirt that reads "My ex-wife told me to quit flying"....Ed
Sort of Ed's advice. Get the Varieze sold and find the Sonerai of your dreams. If the Sonerai is on the market now ask the seller to hold for you.

I didnt ask when I got the second Sonerai, I just left the house with my harley in tow, came back two days later with another Sonerai. I can say this.....she wasnt very amused. What's done is done, besides I was married 29 years and used to being in the doghouse.

Ed, it worked for me too. Life is good, and all I need is one of those T shirts, lol.

All good suggestions guys! I think I'm wearing her down. I'm "letting" her "help" me with my Vari. We're wet sanding it-I just came in to warm up a little. It's about 46 deg. I think she's starting to think taking my time on the Vari's not such a bad idea ;D. Well...back to the garage.

Just go out with a few friends on 3 or 4 following evenings, and come back home completely drunk.

then she mai get in tune with aviating...

Good luck

Oh oh, careful there, pacerpilot. I have yet to meet a man who knows what a woman is really thinking. ;D

AMEN TO THAT!

Schmleff, you're the winner. I emailed the "ad" you posted to my wife. She was LHAO and then quoted the ad. I conclude that means I'm buying a Sonerai! I guess I should do something nice for her, maybe I'll get her new oil and a filter for her car so she can change it. No wait! I'll get her a new dryer to go with the washing machine I got her for her birthday!!! I'm sure she'll love it ;D!

Ok, that does it: I'm buying a $100,000 life policy on pacerpilot! ;D

Tom

Y'know, my wife just bought another life insurance policy for me. I don't know why, I'm in perfect health and I feel fine? She's being quite supportive lately. In fact she was just asking when I'd be test flying the Varieze ;). In all seriousness, she's a good sport. She's been reading all the posts and is quite amused. In fact she's standing behind me right now. I hope she likes her new dryer! OUCH!!!

Whew!! It's not just my wife that reacts like that. I think, though, she is pretty aware that the love of flying I've had since birth (and I got married late in life) is pretty much irreplaceable. I had a girlfriend about 20 years ago that pushed that issue and I did tell her to "hit the door" if she couldn't live with it, and she did. I love the T-Shirt idea...that is good. But you know pacer dude, I believe it is always good to have a plane to fly, while you build.
