I was talking to a friend of mine who owns an aeroplane and whose father was a flight instructor here.

His old man had been in a flat spin and recovered from it but "jettisoned" the co-pilot/student in the spin as the student had panicked.

Flat spin was the cause in the recent ATR-72 accident too.

Could a flat spin be avoidable all together with a concept that can not go into a FS ?
