A friend is concerned about more carbon than before in his filter after oil change .....our theory is that there is oil leakage down the exhaust valve guides....A quick wobble test shows the guides in spec. but not on the low end except for one cylinder which has the cleanest valve cover of all...other valve cover inside showed rust, one even a rusted spring. All I could think to say is " they are primitive engines" and did not say but think "Lycoming quality is not what it used to be" any comments from the list?
