Looking at Wittman's Bonzos and V-Witt got me wondering how much, if any, performance increase could be realized with a wing design change. From the thin wire-braced profile, to a cantilevered, more modern section.
My (very basic) understanding is that a thicker wing is not necessarily more draggy, and removing the wires would reduce drag by a meaningful amount.
I'd appreciate thoughts from those more knowledgable.
