Does anyone have or can take some good photos of the wing folding hardware etc.? Trying to make a decision on welding on the folding wing attachments of not, and I cannot find pictures of them anywhere.

Any particular aircraft? F 14 for example.

Sorry, I was reviewing the “New Posts” and missed the small print (Sonerai).

I have an intense interest in wing folding.

I did find the F 14 wing fold video interesting and informative but I am working on a smaller and lighter, less expensive, system.

I'll attach a few pics of the wing folding components on my Sonerai project. In the upper left of the first pic are the support tubes that attach about 2/3 of the way out on the spar to support the wing when it's folded. On the left side above the main spar carry through are the wing fold parts. The wing fold support tubes slide in the small brackets that are bolted to the spar inside the wing. The square tubes on the left side of the assembly are welded to the fuselage tubes. The second pic is with the wings folded. The last two shots are of the fuselage before and after covering. In the last shot the main spar slides through the covering and into the main spar carry through where the opening is covered by the blue tape. I hope this helps!

That now makes total sense. I do not think I am going to open this set of wings but I have all the parts to build a new set so maybe I should plan on incorporating the wing fold into them.

Thanks!
