This isn't intended to be a rant, merely an observation and question.
I've been ordering a lot of parts for my gyro lately and I've been keeping track of shipping costs.
Amazon : pretty much free shipping on every item.
Ultralight Airplane Parts : $13 to ship the instrument pod from Illinois to Kentucky.
GyroTechnic : I don't know actual shipping costs because I'm not sure if Denis has ever charged me shipping on anything that I've ever ordered.
Most are pretty big packages.
Airtech : $5 - $10 shipping for a very heavy box of fork bolts, eye bolts, nuts, washers, and tube connectors.
Aircraft Spruce :
$34 to ship a $28 sparkplug.
$110 to ship two 5' pieces of angle aluminum that cost $120.
These shipped from Illinois to Kentucky.
How can other companies ship so cheaply, but ACS charges an OUTRAGEOUS price on their shipping ?
Are they using overinflated shipping rates to boost their profit margin ?
Something isn't right with this picture....
