I just priced 1/8" X 48" X 96" mahogany plywood at Wicks Aircraft which is about 2 hours away from me. WOW! Over $200/sheet! Aircraft Spruce is less $$ but shipping to Missouri would eat up the savings. I've heard of people using okoume plywood in place of mahogany and apparently it's much more affordable. What I need it for is the forward section of a MiniMAX fuselage. I checked with the lumber yard where I bought some very nice Northern White Pine 1 X 6's who stocks some pretty interesting wood, but they didn't have it. Has anyone used Okoume in place of mahogany for fuselage sides, top and bottom and where did you find it?
Thanks
