Hello eyerybody,
I am new here and fly a 1962 Emeraude CP-301 S with a RR O-200 A, engine is more than 40 years old and has about 1500 hours.
My problem:
Engine is running rough when the throttle position is about 0,5 in before full throttle. No change with electric fuel pump, carb heat or switching magnetos, but rough running disappears with aggressive leaning. Problem occurs in flight as well on ground, and it is 100% reproducible in many ground runs.
We checked fuel system, airbox, carb heat flap, everything okay. Compression mid to high 70s, oil screen and oil analysis nothing significant. @Dan: we also use the correct washers
New manifold intake hoses and gaskets, new prop, carb overhaul (MA 3) and ground run with a different carb - no change.
New spark plugs - no change. After ground run with the new spark plugs we discovered that plugs of Cylinder 1 were fouled, and the exhaust pipe of No. 1 was deep black as well. So we decided to overhaul Cylinder No. 1 - but again no change at all.
Do you have any ideas?
Best regards from Germany
Ludwig
