With the Sonerai down to just the final paint and re-assembly, it is time to get to the Long-EZ. The backstory as far as can be pieced together is the fellow I got it from had purchased it from the original builder's (or at least the last builder) for its 0-320 to put in his RV project. That fellow had had the plane pretty close to inspection it looks like. Most of the instruments had been fitted (a couple maybe a few times-we all know how that goes)- and it might have been taxi tested.
The Long is getting a 13B Turbocharged flight engine, and while things have moved forward on the engine side the reality is nothing has really been done to the plane itself, and it needs to be.
Where we are today- the airframe is very complete with only some minor repair needed to an aileron hinge damaged in transport, instruments and wiring, brakes, bearings, controls etc. checked greased bled etc., and of course an engine hung off the back to be more or less complete.
Where it is going- I hope to be able to complete the following this year-
all minor repairs and services made
Long nose
san, prime, and paint so the plane is all one color of white
Electric pitch/roll trim
13B Turbo installed and ground tested
new panel/radios
LED lights throughout (anyone needs a Whelen box..)

Along the way I think I might build a set of adjustable pedals, add seat heaters, add a heater core in the cockpit or duct air from one of the rads for cabin heat, and probably a few other "While I am there" things.

Pics attached, you can see the Sonerai on its stands waiting to be wheeled off to paint.
