Looking at getting a milling machine.
Been eying the Precision Matthews PM-25 and similar that's sometimes available for around $2K.
But common for that and similar ones in that price range is quill/spindle travel is only 2 to 3".
How much of an issue is that for airplane projects?
For example drilling prop hub holes.

P.S. I keep seeing old Bridgeport mills for sale but I have no idea on how I would transport one home (doubt it'd fit in a 1/4 ton truck or 4x8 HF trailer). Actually no idea how heavy they really are. Then there's the problem of determining wear and accuracy on those old machines. Not to mention that they probably have different taper than R8.
