...but not in the same form we're used to. It'll be used as a range extender for the upcoming MX-30 Skyactive R-EV (who comes up with these names!?).
Specs:
Displacement: 0.83
Rotors: 1
Power: 74 HP @ 4500 RPM
Torque: 86 lb-ft @ 4000 RPM
Compression ratio: 11.9:1

For comparison, the RX-8 had a two-rotor, 1.3L engine that produced 232 HP at 9000 RPM.

A video explaining some fancy wizardry here:

This new version has a few tricks up its sleeve:
1) It's gets the effect of variable valve timing by varying the load the generator puts on the engine throughout each combustion cycle. It slows the rotor down briefly in order to extend the time air can enter the combustion chamber, and then reduces the load in order to speed up towards the next intake.
2) the side housings are aluminum alloy (15kg lighter!)
3) direct injection to get better atomization and distribution, reducing unburned fuel
4) wider apex seals for improved wear resistance

I'd be interested in seeing how much the engine weighs by itself.
