Questions for HM290/3 Pou builders/flyers:
What's the max deflection (each side) in degrees on your rudder?
Does your aircraft have a rudder stop?
In order to design the rudder pedals for my Flea I need to know how far the cable attach point on the rudder horn moves forward at full deflection.
My rudder hinge allows 52 degrees deflection (each side), but that seems like far more than needed (or wanted). Most conventional aircraft have rudder stops to prevent the rudder from impacting the elevator at max deflection. Of course, our Pous don't have that constraint. However, too much deflection would probably be dangerous aerodynamically.
The pic shows my rudder horn at 30 degrees deflection. Would this be an appropriate maximum deflection? (With my hinge, deflection of 30 degrees moves the cable attach point 2.25" forward from the neutral position.)
