My IILS firewall will be built this winter and I am looking for a P profile sealer to attach at the firewall's perimeter. I see in the gallery that many of you have used this type of seal strip with success. Anyone have a source for the seal material?

Aircraft Spruce P/N:05-01200 P-Strip good for sealing the canopy, very soft, look at the page 116 in 2010/2111 catalog .But to seal the firewall you'd better to choose the silicone P-seal P/N: 05-00663 (more resistant to fire)same page.Bruno

Thanks Bruno and Fred. Now I have to think about just what I expect this seal to do. If there were a serious engine compartment fire the silicone might be nice, but I suspect there would be burning chunks of cowl flying past the canopy (and maybe the canopy too?). So maybe the goal for the seal is to help minimize the chance of exhaust gasses getting past the firewall. In that case, I am inclined to go with Fred's solution.

This also forces me to think about on-board engine fire extinguishers. Its never simple, is it?
