DIY ADS-B and Transponder antenna for $3. Here is an easy inexpensive way to make your own durable ADSB-B or transponder antenna.
You just need a female panel mount BNC and a 3inch piece of 1/16 tig welding rod like ER70S and a non-insulated butt slice and a soldering iron. I have pictures and a link to a video I made that give the details. I did this after easily breaking off the commercial stick and ball antennas with the slightest bump while washing the plane. After using this on my ADS-B I got the best PAPR report ever. In fact it was perfect and I live in a fairly remove part of KY and still got a great PAPR report. Watch the vid for details.
