One version of Ipanema uses a 84 inch prop turning 45 rps /320hp from a 200 kg O-540 engine.
This is around Mach 0.9 tipspeed and in some locations the needed (LL100 octane )fuel cost three times as much as moonshined ethanol per energy unit.

Some are dreaming of a better powerplant.

Mach 0.9 is very noisy and not really good for propulsive efficiency.

LL100 is not good for anything.

Ethanol has anti-nock and internal cooling values beyond good and bad.
It does not matter much that ethanol energy per mass unit is lower than 100LL for missions shorter than an hour.

Question is if an existing AG plane could work with fixed pitch prop if prop efficiency was say improved 5% and engine mass per hp was reduced say 25%?

Are some AG planes opperating FP?
