Hi, this is my first post in this forum, I write because someone has proposed to me something interesting and we will try to do a good job.
This is about building wooden propellers with a big CNC 5 axis machine. The company is called Hertalla in Valencia (Spain) and they have an impressive technology used for classical furniture
We have designed a 44 x 30 propeller for PPG, we had a propeller example (the propeller is nice but we scanned it and it seems extremely rounded like a copy of a copy) so it has been completely redesigned, with new airfoils, twist distribution...
make a theoretical design and use more modern airfoils seems the way, it may not give the optimal design in the first step but we will learn quickly and it gives us the possibility of design any propeller and probably with better efficiencies.
I attached some pictures of the 44 x 30
Design suggestions are welcome
What propeller do you use?
If initial tests go well we will propose a collaboration in order to have a rapid feedback of the operation of the propellers.
