Looking at Scott Casler's web site, he sells 28 HP (840cc), 32 HP (917cc), and 37 HP (1037 cc) half VWs. (In addition to other engines that would have to be restricted so as not to exceed 63 mph.)

Are the lower volume engines any more or less reliable than the higher displacement engines? I know in automotive use the 87.5 mm cylinders are preferred to the 87 mm cylinders, but the 28 HP has 88's, and the other two 92s and the 37 HP has a 78 mm stroker crank.

In a true 254 pound UL would a 32 or 37 HP engine have to be derated?

Thanks.
