I have a KT100 Yamaha engine that was on a Wizard weight shift ultralight. When I bought it the engine was above the keel tube and I was told that many move it to the underside to lower the center of gravity. That made perfect sense to me, so that's what I plan to do.
However that presents a question regarding the fuel system and Walbro carburetor. Since the fuel tank was originally about even or slightly below the carburetor the Walbro diaphragm carburetor pulled the fuel from the tank. By installing the engine on the underside of the keel tube and now with the cylinder head pointing down instead of up the fuel level will be above the carburetor and will gravity feed to the Walbro carb. Not only that but the Walbro's "pumping diaphragm" will now be on the bottom of the carburetor instead of on the top. Will it work this way? Will the gravity feed fuel now constantly try to flood the carburetor?
I'm all new to Walbro carbs so I'd rather be considered dumb rather than not asking the right questions and proving that I haven't thought things through that might cause problems.
