Hello,
Please forgive me if this has been asked/answered before. I've tried searching and have not gotten any results. Could be I'm searching with he wrong words :gig:. I have a kit that is no longer supported, the company has gone out of business. It is the Monnett Moni motorglider and Sonex et al won't even talk about it. My question is, is it worth trying to change the Moni's V-tail to a T-tail? The aft fuselage is small and close to the ground, so I don't think a conventional tail will work, could be wrong though. I have the plans for an MC-15 CriCri that used a T-tail. The fuselage area and materials were smaller on the CriCri than the Moni fuselage. So it seems that by the TLAR ( That Looks About Right) method, the T-tail would work just as well, if not better. I'm not building the mono-wheel landing gear; I'm going to use a conventional gear setup so I won't be dragging the wingtips around. I have Bruhn and a few other books on stress and structures, but I'm not an engineer. So, before I invest time and/or money on changing the tail setup, I'm just asking if it would be worth the trouble, and any pros and cons that the smart folks here might have. I've really enjoyed this site and look forward to any help, advice, etc.

Thanks for listening!

Bill
