Good day,

I was comparing several jet engines in the 60-100 lbf thrust range and came across a company producing a 100 lbf turbine. I asked the company if an aircraft, manned or RC, already flew using their turbines.

The company answered that there is a jet powered glider and maybe several military drones using their engines, but since they're military drones, it's a military secret and thus ''no one knows''.

The jet powered glider in question is either a Monnett Monerai (found a picture of the engine mounted but no video) or the ADA Jet Glider project.

Here's the picture:

and here are the links to the Monerai and the ADA Jet Glider:

So my questions are:

Do any of our members used an engine (jet or piston) with an almost unknown track record? If so, what precautions should be taken? Other than an engine failure and everything associated with it (outlanding, shipping the engine back for repairs, warranty,...) what risks am I exposing myself to?
