After building numerous large model flying wings, of forward and swept back variety, both were very stable.
Swept back wings required washout to prevent accidental spins. However, the washout created excessive drag when penetrating at high speed.
The swept forward wing, or even the Plank type, required no washout at all. They would not stall or spin, yet penetrated exceptionally well.
Given what I learned from my modeling, I am curious as to why swept back flying wing designs dominate the field today - both models and the full-size aircraft.
