The Ugly Duck amphibian joined three surface "Near ultralight" craft.
Has,
Elliptical fiberglass over foam stressed skin tube for what can be considered it's only load bearing wing structure. Even after summing for as much wing weight as design parameters allow the skin shell is too thin for the fuselage joint stress concentrations.
How can I minimize the local stress, without an enormous weight penalty?
The tube inside is ~11 inches wide ~2.5 high, outside 12 by 3.
Wall thickness to be determined mostly by weight from test piece.
There will be no carbon fiber.
All thoughts welcomed, easy solutions treasured.
