Effective this past Sunday, Oct 5th, I have purchased the Sonerai plans and parts business from Great Plains Aircraft Supply. Several months ago, Steve and Linda told me that they were planning to end the sale of Sonerai plans at the end of this year, and the sale of Sonerai specific parts sometime after that. Not wanting to see the Sonerai line die, I told Steve that I would be interested in taking over the business, and we came to an agreement.

I'm currently in the process of setting up my new business, tentatively named "SoneraiWorks". There will eventually be a new www.sonerai.com website, a Facebook presence, and other promotional activities. My immediate plan is to sell Sonerai I, Sonerai II, and Sonerai IIS plans, wing spar channels, aileron blanks, wing rib kits, wing tips, both Sonerai I and Sonerai II cowlings, tailwheel springs, Sonerai Newsletter Back Issue CDs, and a few other bits and pieces. Great Plains Aircraft Supply will continue to sell landing gears, brakes, wheels, spinners, and tailwheel swivel castings (and engine kits, of course). Canopies and fuel tanks will continue to be available from other suppliers. I will also continue to provide technical support as I always have.

So, for the time being, if you need any of this stuff, call me at 414-581-1442 (after 6:00 PM central time), or email me at fredkeip at aol dot com.

This is great news. Thanks, Fred.

Keeping the Sonerai line active is very important, and I am glad that you, in particular, decided to continue the devotion! You are the man for the job….good luck. Thanks, Fred……Ed F.

Congratulations Fred. Hopefully there will be a sticky on this, and a prominent link on Sonerai.net for Sonerai.com.

Congrats, Fred! We couldn't have a better person to keep the Sonerai line alive with outstanding technical support! This indeed great news!

The Sonerai effort is in great hands. Congrats Fred...

Congrads on this purchase. I see you are in Central Time zone. I know this covers a large area. But if you are anywhere near central Illinois and need any help with anything. I will donate any time I can for nothing. Just happy to be part of this family.

Tony

Great that they let you know so the transition is clean. I'll be a customer. Nice that you are in nearby sunny WI. Thank you for keeping a this form factor in play.

Hi Everyone:
Thanks for all the kind comments and encouragement.
For those of you who don't know, I'm located in southeastern Wisconsin, just south of Milwaukee and west of Racine. I won't have a store front as I'll be working out of my house. I keep my airplane at the Burlington, WI airport (KBUU), so if you are in the neighborhood (particularly on the weekends), let me know, and we can meet at the airport.
