I am working on a fixed gear high wing cross country airplane.
My goal is an ownership experience similar to a Kitfox, with a mission profile closer to a 2 seat Mooney M20.
I am thinking about the wing design, and I would like to have higher wing loading, low drag, and a option to store it in a trailer.
I would like to evaluate a folding wing structure, to minimize hangar requirements, but I don't want the dual braced structure like the Kitfox. I would prefer a cantilever folder like the Thorp T18 (but I don't actually know how hard that is to manipulate), but I am also considering a single strut like the Remos GX.
Can anyone suggest folding mechanisms that I can look into for inspiration/information?
