I bought a pair of Zulu 3 headsets for the wife and I after getting our CTLS. My wife later volunteered me to take her chiropractor for a flight. After the flight, and upon finding out I’d let her chiro use her headset, she made it abundantly clear that NO ONE was to use her headest. Which is probably a good thing, as when I bought the headsets she said she wanted a ribbon on hers to make sure I know which one is which. She meant on the headset case, but I put a big, 10” Minnie Mouse bow on the top of her headset. The chiro looked pretty silly wearing it, I tell you.
So, after this dressing down I got, I dug out the old Flightcom headset I used when I was a student back in ’94. Plugging it in to the intercom, I had no sound or mic. Or maybe the mic worked, but I couldn’t hear it. I’ll use a Zulu in the earphone jack and try the mic, then switch to check the speakers of the Flightcom.
I figured that I might as well rebuild the headset in either case, as it’s 30 years old now. Now, silly me, I figured I could just go on Amazon and buy a rebuild kit. Nope. So I went to the Flightcom website to see if they had parts. Nope. I did get the wiring diagram, though.
So, does anyone know where I can find a rebuild kit with the 300 ohm speakers for the cups and a good mic for a good price?
