My question is, is this considered accurate, or is this now outdated that we've had some more time to develop techniques with tools such as CNC, 3d printing for moulds, etc? Curious what the real world experience is out there today.
Cost analysis methods such as the widely used DAPCA-IV predict man-hours for the engineering development of composite aircraft to be around two times greater than that of comparable aluminum aircraft. They also predict tooling hours to double and manufacturing hours to be 25% greater
