Hey all, quick wood question. Came across this on a pre-buy and it doesn’t look kosher at first glance:
That’s the cabin side ply web on a Piel. It’s been butt joined and glassed for sure on the inside unknown what the other side looks like without cutting away fabric. There’s a log entry from decades (and hundreds of flight hours) ago about replacing a bunch of ply throughout the airframe due to the airplane being on extended outdoor tie down.
What’s the consensus on this?
