Hello, I'm new to this website and also to homemade airplane building.

My plan is to build a large drone based on the MQ-1 Predator/MQ-9 Reaper. I am going to make it seven feet long and I decided to make it electric and was thinking about three powerful golf cart motors. One in the back and changing the original design a bit to put two on the wings. I was also thinking of possibly using plywood for the chassis and foam along with something else for the wings. Please tell me what you think about this.

The power for the motors i figured I would use large Li-Po batteries.

One of the issues though is how will I control it? I was thinking some sort of HF antennas and powerful transmitters to allow for hopefully several miles range from the ground control station. I was also wondering how I might would get live video down over RF with the same range as the control antennas.

Please give me your input so that hopefully I can do this type of project.
