Hi!
As the title says, I am wondering if it is possible to assemble and completely disassemble an aircraft wing, that is not a paraglider or a hang glider, prior to each flight?
I remember Dana saying that it was possible to do so with the Quicksilver, but that the process was very time consuming; sort of a total no go.
If you consider a basic ladder type wing, theoretically it will be easy to remove the diagonal tubes or the bracing, and fold the basic structure. The complication is when you add the ribs, and the skin, and the struts etc. It seems that the simplest option is to carry the wings without dissasembling them, on a car roof top, or a trailer; like the Goat etc.
So any thoughts, has this been tried before with success?
Cheers,
Oriol
