Hey all,
I am getting the point in my project where I need to start thinking about sourcing an engine. I have seen a few A65’s in non-aviation applications (Ski Sled, and air boats) and they are advertised as making good power and have good oil pressure.
I wanted to ask the forum, is there a way to evaluate a running A65 for aircraft use that does not involve a teardown and inspection? (I guess you could Dial the crank and check compression, but is that enough to call it usable?)
And I guess another twist, is there any extra value to a running core over just a bunch of parts that need to be inspected and replaced (as I see some basket cases out there).
