I'm a hang glider pilot. It's what I can afford for flying.Wanna build a Ligeti Stratos-based footlaunch soaring platform. Wortmann airfoil has too high of a stall speed for safe footlaunch. HELP?! I'd remove the powerplant, shroud, tank, most of the landing gear (go to single wheel with a skid). Looking to scale it up a bit as the original was designed around a 170 lb man and I am 230+. I corresponded with Ron and he confirmed his father would hear the vario and shut off the engine and thermal for a while and with a 20/1 L/D it seems like a natural for a tight little platform. I've worked composites for 19 years in aircraft R&D, so the work doesn't concern me, but any ideas concerning the airframe would be welcomed. Ground handling the glider should be pretty decent, with a little side fighter stick, and anticipated span of less than 23 feet.
