Regarding temperature monitoring on my 1835cc VW motor being built by Scott Casler for a MiniMax, I'm wondering if I need to monitor all four cylinders. My inclination is to monitor CHT and EGT on all four. Scott says that's possible but a compromise might be to monitor CHT on the rear cylinders and alternate sides for EGT---on one front cylinder and one rear.

The engine will be cowled and have a top-mount Weber carb.

Of course, I'll also be monitoring oil pressure and temperature.

What is your experience and thoughts on monitoring cylinder and exhaust temperatures? Thanks!
