Found one of the nuts missing that hold the intake spider on my C-85. According to the parts manual, there are supposed to be "lock-o-seal" washers #538556 on the studs above and below the spider. OK, ACS stocks them. However, the manual also calls out a #2557 "nut, special, 3/8", no idea what that is??? Doesn't look like a locknut, so a standard AN315-6 should work? Or should it be a locknut?
But to add to the confusion, the overhaul manual says for the O-200 to just finger tighten the castle nut and insert a cotter pin... but on the C-85 it's not a castle nut and there's no cotter pin or cotter pin hole in the stud... and no procedure in the manual... so how should it be tightened?
