Pictures of cockpit head room on the JMR Special. I built the max headroom for a pilot of 6'5" to fit my 2 grandsons that are 6'5'x 250-270 lbs. I'm 6' and have an excess of head room. I have on the plans for shorter pilots than 6'5" pilots , the top of the cabin can be lowered 2 or 3" if desired. The extra strength is there. I have a 3" bottom cushion in the seat.
The airplane will take up to a 300 lbs pilot with full fuel and no baggage. Any baggage weight will have to come off the pilots for a max of 50 lbs in the baggage area. The empty weight is 680 lbs with a GW of 1100 lbs. Cont- C-85 engine. The lower cabin would also lower the flat plate drag area for a little higher cruise and look better.
What do you think ?
Sure would look better if it was a tail dragger.
My next door neighbor trying it on for the size, lives in FL and at our field. He is also a flight instructor. Gave me a bi-annual a few months ago.
