My project calls for "plain" flaps like in the bottom right of the above image and just uses a piano hinge butted between the wood spars. Works just as well aerodynamically as fully coved I'm sure but I'm thinking that big square gap when down, sure is going to look ugly and not very scale -building a replica that used a cove.
Question is: would anyone of you think of extending the gap a bit so a curved sheet of something could be fitted in like an RV, Glasair, P51 mustang etc.?
