A number of designs use an angled firewall to reduce the likelihood of "digging in" in a crash to prevent violent deceleration. Are there any proven techniques to accomplish this with a vertical firewall, perhaps with a separate "lip" at the bottom edge of the firewall or a "skid plate" attached to the engine mount?
