MohawkAero.com, having engaged Dean Carboni, who used to weld Team Penski et.al. NASCAR chromoly frames for a living, is now fabricating Kitfox III ( fits all early model Kitfox, from what I've been told) frames to convert from 65HP Rotax 582 to 85HP Yamaha Phazer YG2 4-stroke, 2-cyl, liquid-cooled (heated throttle bodies), EFI engines. Each weld is a work of art, the best I've seen anywhere, on anything, by anyone.
We mounted the prototype frame to the firewall jig, and the motor dropped right in, all mounting bolts freely slipping and threading into place with no binding or forcing into place.
